Bennet, Hickenlooper Public Lands Bills Pass Senate Committee With Bipartisan Support

The CORE Act and Dolores River National Conservation Area and Special Management Area Act Would Protect Approximately 488,000 Acres of Colorado’s Public Lands

Colorado U.S. Senators Michael Bennet and John Hickenlooper, a member of the U.S. Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources, celebrated the Committee’s passage of their Colorado Outdoor Recreation & Economy (CORE) Act and Dolores River National Conservation Area and Special Management Area Act. This is the first time the bills have passed the Senate Committee with bipartisan support.
U.S. Senators Michael Bennet (D-Colo.) and Bill Cassidy (R-La.) alongside U.S. Representatives John Larson (D-Conn.) and Don Bacon (R-Neb.) reintroduced the Segal AmeriCorps Education Award Tax Relief Act. This legislation would provide tax relief for AmeriCorps members who earn Segal Education Awards to help pay for higher education costs that they earn through their service.
